Carlisle Lake District Airport has welcomed a variety of helicopter visitors, bringing added interest and activity to the apron.
Among the arrivals were two helicopters that stopped overnight, including the Sky News helicopter, which visited while reporting in the local area. Its presence showcased the airport’s ability to support a wide range of aviation operations.
A Coastguard AgustaWestland AW189 also visited for refuelling and later returned to carry out manoeuvre training on the runway before refuelling again. The crew made use of on-site facilities before departing back to Inverness.
These visits reflect CLDA's ongoing role in supporting general aviation, media operations, emergency services, and military training.
